Building Relationships with Youth
Get in on the action! We always need caring adults to proactively build relationships with the youth we serve. This is usually accomplished through helping facilitate our large group meetings, co-leading a small group, and/or spending consistent and intentional time with youth. Our holistic programming is a means to create and build RELATIONSHIP. Our desire is for every youth we serve to be actively engaged in an authentic, Christ-sharing relationship with at least one of our volunteers. We believe that from this place of safety and connection, faith grows and space is created to experience the love, hope and healing of Jesus.
Volunteers must go through a screening process. We offer on-going training to help you be encouraged and effective in your role.
Providing Meals
Breaking bread together is an essential aspect of our holistic ministry as it fosters community and meets an important practical need of the youth we serve. We invite you and your community to provide a monthly (or one-time) meal for our large group meetings (approx 35 people). Food must delivered to WCF Church (907 Maryland Ave NE) by 6:45pm on Monday nights.
Small Group Dinner Host
This role invites you to use your gift of hospitality to provide a meal and comfortable space for a small group to gather for an extended time of fellowship, fun and Bible study.
Transportation Help
Driving youth to and/or from ministry meetings fosters their discipleship experience and provides an opportunity to get to know the young people we serve. It is most helpful when drivers are able to serve on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, but one-time help is also appreciated. Our greatest transportation needs are for Monday night large group meetings (6:45-9pm at WCF Church - 907 Maryland Ave NE), and Tuesday night small groups (7-9pm at a location on the Hill). YFC provides additional insurance coverage.
Event Support
We hold special events throughout the year to raise vital funds for our work. We rely on volunteers to help make these events a success.
Leadership
We welcome business leaders and professionals who are willing to lend their expertise to advance our work. We also lean on professionals for advice on vocational enterprises for our youth.
Administrative
Prefer a more behind-the-scenes approach? We have a need for office help, event planning support, and other temporary or on-going assistance.
